Pressing Arm Pinion Gear onto N20 Motor

Parts Required

  1. 1x N20 Motor
  2. 3D Printed Arm Pinion Gear

CONSIDERATIONS

  1. If the end result may be subject to young kids or you want the ability to move the arm by hand. I recommend placing the pinion gear with the gear portion farthest away from the motor. This will mesh directly with the gear coming off the arm and though while its still not great for the model you can move the arm by hand without to much worry of breaking gear teeth.
  2. If the end result will only be moved via remote control then I highly recommend placing the pinion gear with the gear portion facing towards the motor. This orientation will allow a middle gear to be placed which will increase the amount of torque the arm can produce as well as allow for more precise/slow arm movements. **I highly prefer this option**

STEPS

  1. Press the pinion gear onto the N20 motor by hand first then finish with with either a vice or by gently tapping with a mallet.

WARNING: If the driveshaft is to tight and to much pressure is applied, permanent damage may

occur and the N20 Motor may no longer work properly.
